Fair Fighting Principles

One key component of the Marriage & Relationship Rescue Program, is the concept of "Fair Fighting Principles."

Working with the principles of "Fair Fighting" as taught by Dr. George Bach, author of Creative Aggression and The Intimate Enemy, you will learn the concepts of "Beltline Hurts" and "No Hitting below the Belt."

In your sessions, you will learn about
  • Baiting
  • Derailing
  • Gunny Sacking
  • Mind Reading
  • Hooking
  • Crazy making
  • Hurt Museums

These are just a few of the colorful nomenclatures with which you will become familiar as the counseling process unfolds.

How well do you and your spouse really know about one another?

Dr. Ross will help you bring resolution and peace to matters effecting your relationship(s), well-being and to your life in general.

Teen Issues

Are you concerned about your teen's behavior or outlook on life? Do you feel your teen is going through more than just "teen angst?" Are you concerned with the distance that has grown (is growing) between you and your teen?

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

PTSD seldom just goes away on its own.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing "EMDR" is a key element to deleting painful reoccurring memories, A program that is effective with 70% to 80% of the population dealing with PTSD issues.

With wars in both Iraq and Afghanistan, PTSD has gained the attention of the national press. However, PTSD is not just a war-borne phenomenon. PTSD can develop in anyone who has suffered through/endured some traumatic event their life. Spousal abuse, rape, a car accident, natural disaster or the loss of a child are but a few examples of traumatic events that can lead to PTSD.

Mediation Services

Mediation

Litigation can be, and usually is, a VERY COSTLY process. The outcome is dependent on the decision of a judge or jury and this takes the outcome out of your hands! When one party loses, it ALWAYS leaves a sense of unfairness and hurt which can linger for years.

Mediation allows the outcome of your case to be in your control. Through the help of the mediator the contesting parties reach a mutually agreed upon outcome. This is the preferred way of managing divorce settlements and child custody agreements. Moreover, it significantly reduces the cost otherwise paid in legal fees!

Mediation continues to be the best way to settle most civil litigation in business matters, conflict within the family, neighbor disputes and a host of matters that otherwise would go through the courts with unpredictable results.

Most attorneys would also advise, whenever possible,
"Don't Litigate - Mediate!"

Attorney-specific Second Opinions

Dr. Ross is available to render a "second opinion" in reviewing data of other therapists. He will carefully scrutinize all evaluations submitted in regard to accuracy and propriety of opinions and conclusions. This allows the attorney to be a more effective advocate for his or her client.

Education Services

Learning Abilities/Disabilities Assessment

Are you concerned about whether your child is reading and/or learning as he or she should?

Are you puzzled and looking for answers?

Sometimes children and adolescents prematurely enter into therapy when the issue underlying the concern is a learning difficulty which may be determined through testing.

These evaluations may include the following:
  • I.Q. Assessment
  • Specialized Reading and Math Testing
  • Auditory Processing Testing
  • Motor Perceptual Testing
  • Phonetic Inventory - A Key Facet for Discerning Dyslexia

When all is said and done and the evaluation is complete, a written report is prepared for the parents, with copies to schools and physicians - as requested and/or authorized.

Business Seminars

Seminars brought to the workplace allow all parties - management and employees - to benefit from the "ABCs" of communication and conflict resolution.

Benefits invariably include:
  • Fewer complaints
  • Less frustration
  • Better quality of work
  • Fewer absences
  • Conflicts more readily resolved
  • Happier, more satisfied personnel

All of this combines to result in greater earnings, thus enabling management to best meet the interests of the company and its employees.
